Warehouse transformation.

Design, planning application, project management and ongoing full property management service for a converted warehouse top floor and flat roof to create three new flats in Hackney.

This project has involved the full design, planning application, project management and now is fully property managed by SpaceUp. This process has seen the conversion of a warehouse top floor and flat roof into three brand new new flats (two of which are now completed.)

Again working alongside Marcel Mauer we delivered several design iterations which were very well received by the client, one of which also met the planning officer’s approval.

The final design provided our client Oran with three spacious self-contained flats situated within an extension on the flat roof and within his existing over-sized 2nd floor flat. His once in a lifetime investment in these brand new flats will finance his and his partner’s impending retirement.

SpaceUp provided a project management service and tight control of client costs and expenses, throughout the tough COVID-19 lockdown. With two of the flats now completed, SpaceUp now also provides a full management service, ensuring both landlord and tenants are happy with their fantastic new flats.

Planning Permission was submitted in August 2017 and after ongoing correspondence with the planning officer and several design iterations Planning Permission was granted with conditions on 15 February 2018.

Construction completed 28 July 2020 and both flats successfully rented out 1 and 15 August 2020.

“SpaceUp have managed my property brilliantly, so far handling two changeovers of tenants with minimal interruption of revenue. They’re a young company and the always go the extra mile to get things right. Communication is excellent; they keep me informed about expenses, provide different options and have always remained in budget. I definitely feel like I’m in safe hands!”
